the water runs faster now. soon come the rapids.

oh no, manchester united lost last night. to liverpool, no less. what a bloody miserable start to the damn season. come on man, beating liverpool used to be a given. just me guessing that we’re more dependent on cristiano ronaldo than we’d like to think. leonard says that fergie’s getting arrogant, and his tactics are reflecting that arrogance and it’s costing the team. for once, i’d say he’s quite close to the truth. can’t help but feel a sense of complacency from the side that was dominating last season.

the sadder truth really is that i think i’m losing my interest in soccer. i used to watch every match that i was free to watch. then it became just man utd, and slowly even watching my own team became just a time to time thing. i choose to blame the SAF, for burning away all my precious soccer time especially on sundays when i have to book in. i blame NS for weaning me off watching soccer, thus depriving me of one of those small pleasures to indulge in.

anyway, the story of my weekend has to be today. the lighstrike guys and honorary members from recce went to sentosa again. they seem to like the place a lot. we went to play volleyball, which i can say we honestly suck at quite badly. our games bore more resemblence to tennis than volleyball. one team would dominate the service, more because of the other team’s inability to return rather than the quality of the service, until the rare slip up and service is passed over. and so on and so forth. but i can speak from the bottom of my heart when i say we’ve improved from our last visit, when it was more of a who can serve better type of game.

sadly, we did not manage to dunk weikai one single time either, which ultimately classifies our whole trip as a failure.

and for the first time, i witnessed the phenomena that my brother has coined ‘indian gays’. its frightening, quite frankly, to see them walking around hand-in-hand. i can only be thankful that no one managed to take any pictures of them walking around. still, andy tells me that they aren’t really gay and its acceptable for really close indian friends to hold each others’ hands. i hope what he says is true really. the world would be a lot less unsettling.
