the survivors of 0208 GCC met for dinner at carnivore yesterday. the plans for the event had been laid much much earlier, almost back to the first day of the course. it’s amazing how much fun you can have recounting stories of what was supposedly the worst days of our lives. it’s also quite sad la, but entertaining nevertheless. my bro told me about this disease that afflicts singaporean men, that once they enter the service it becomes all they can talk about. and its true, what he said, but i seriously look forward to the day when it can be cured.
anyway, the best story of the night was undoubtedly the bug in the ear. i’m a little shocked i didn’t hear anything about it during the course itself. apparently, some huge ass bug lodged itself in the ear of some poor soul. and the guy somehow refused to see the medic. i mean the bug was huge, and in his own words, he could hear the damn thing buzzing inside his ear. if it were me, i’d run screaming and shouting to the medic the moment that thing got in. and so the story goes that the guy had a bright idea, yes yes, he decides to drown the fricking thing. he fucking holds his head sideways and poors water into his ear. the good news was that the insect died, but the bad news was it was still inside his ear. then in the end he got sent to SGH, where they finally plucked the damn thing out.
